We build products, and we keep them running.

Stray Cat is a product engineering consultancy in Stockholm. We take products from idea to something real people use every day — the interface, the systems behind it, and everything it takes to keep it live.

We don't sell hours. You buy an active stream of work and what actually comes out of it.

Products we've built

Described by what they do, not who we did it for

2023—25
Tech lead

Biological age, estimated in the browser

A Nordic longevity brand needed people to care about their own ageing. We built a face scan that estimates biological age from your camera in a few seconds, in five languages, with no image ever leaving the device. It became the brand's main way of winning first-time customers — and we built the store and systems around it.

  • Live in five languages
  • Runs entirely on-device
  • Main acquisition channel

2023—
Tech owner

SaaS platform for sales organisations

A sales-tech company had a business and no product. We built the thing their customers log into every day: an AI coach that learns only from each company's own data, wired into the CRMs and identity systems they already use. We still own the technology.

  • Live product, paying customers
  • An AI coach per customer
  • BankID-verified onboarding

How we work

How an engagement actually moves, from week one to you running the product without us.

  1. Something real in week one. You see a working product early and often, not a document describing one.

  2. Several things move at once. We work in parallel. Each task runs isolated in its own environment and goes for review when it's done — without waiting for anything else to finish first.

  3. Nothing reaches production without someone standing behind it. Automated test gates, staged rollout and a named person who reviews before anything goes live. That's the part we charge for.

  4. One team owns the whole product. Interface, systems and infrastructure together, so nothing falls between briefs.

  5. Built for everyone who uses it. Fast and accessible by default — a product only counts if people can actually use it.

  6. Yours to keep. You end up with a product your own team can run and extend without us.

Four ways to engage

The same team and the same way of building, however you buy. What differs is who owns priority, pace and operations.

Ongoing delivery

A guaranteed stream of work in our delivery pipeline, for a fixed monthly fee. You prioritise what gets built, we ship continuously and take responsibility for it working in production. No timesheets, no arguing over estimates. New requests go into a queue you order yourself.

  • Guaranteed capacity, always on
  • Next business day pickup
  • Weekly release
  • Critical fixes same day

Product build

You have an idea and a market. We build the product, put it in front of users, and keep shipping after launch. Fixed price for the setup, ongoing delivery after that. The code is yours, and you can take it over whenever you want.

Advisory

A second opinion before you commit: what to build, what to build it with, and what will hurt you in two years. A few calls or an afternoon, with concrete recommendations you can act on straight away.

Hourly engagements

For organisations whose procurement requires it. Senior product engineers inside your team, as builders or technical lead, billed by the hour at the current rate. The engagement is scoped to the agreed hours. Prioritisation, release cadence and operational responsibility then sit with you.

Why we stopped selling hours

An hour says nothing about what got built. We work with automated agents that run several tasks in parallel, which means the number of hours and the amount of product delivered no longer line up.

What is still limited is how much we can review and stand behind. That is why we sell streams of work instead of time — you pay for capacity and for someone standing behind what goes to production, not for how long something happened to take.

About

Stray Cat is a product engineering consultancy, working since 2020 with everyone from first-time founders to large enterprises.

We build the whole product — what people see, the systems behind it, and the infrastructure it runs on. That means one team to talk to, and no seams where a design handover meets a backend team meets an ops team.

We work with automated agents that run several tasks in parallel, each isolated in its own environment. That lets us keep several tracks moving at once without losing control — and a human always reviews before anything reaches your users.

We are happy to own a product outright, and equally happy to be extra hands in a team that already knows what it is doing.

What we build with

  • Frontend React · Next.js · TypeScriptMaterial UI · React Native
  • Backend Node.js · FastifyREST APIs · integrations
  • Cloud & ops GCP · OpenShiftCI/CD · maintenance
  • Other AI/ML · Shopify · BankIDCRM · WCAG

Got something you want built?

Two lines about the product is enough to start. We answer within one business day, and we say so plainly when we are not the right people.
